Overnight Monday, an entire city was terrorized with explosions and several of the startled civilian citizens were held hostage in an assault on the town’s financial fortress. Dozens of armed robbers weren’t messing around when they hit a major bank in the Brazilian city of Criciúma in the southern part of the country. Local paper currency valued at more than $150,000 American dollars was left lying in the street following a massive explosion.
Armed assault team invades city
Starting around midnight local time, as Monday night became Tuesday, “close to 30 people wearing hoods” took control of Criciúma streets as part of a heavily armed assault team targeting a bank in the southern Brazilian region.
Thankfully nobody was killed in the hail of open gunfire, but two people were injured. In the aftermath, citizens scrambled to grab up as much as they could of the currency littering the streets, but found out that wasn’t such a great idea when they were immediately arrested for it.
As they roared into town, reports note that “the individuals blocked access points to the city to prevent police reinforcements from responding.”
The firefight lasted for a solid two hours and residents were hearing “shooting and explosions” across the city as the assault progressed.
By 2:00 a.m. the town mayor, Clésio Salvaro took to social media warning residents about the ongoing assault. He advised citizens to “stay at home” because “criminals were running amok in the city.”
He also mentioned that “a number of people were taken hostage but they were later released unharmed.”
NBC not convinced
NBC news keeps asserting without evidence that Joe Biden won the election but they won’t go out on a limb to verify the eyewitness assault reports from Brazil, even with photo an video evidence.
They aren’t convinced until they hear confirmation from George Soros. “NBC News could not immediately verify any of Globo’s reporting,” they hedge while pointing out that “Video from Criciúma appeared to show people picking up money strewn across the city’s streets.” They know how fake news is made so they aren’t even buying the video proof.
NBC even has photos taken after the assault which clearly “showed a bank vault with a square-shaped hole in it and a convoy of vehicles as they made their escape.”
The robbers got away clean but “So far, four people have been arrested who collected part of the paper bills that were thrown to the ground due to the explosion.”
They managed to collect “810,000 reais which works out to around $152,660 U.S. Dollars. They aren’t estimating how much the banditos got off with yet.
Latin American countries like Brazil keep a lot of paper currency in circulation and have to warehouse huge piles of cash. That makes their larger banks prone to assault.
Major financial institutions in Brazil have been struggling “with a wave of violent robberies.” Lately, “criminals have mastered the use of explosives to access cash.”
